The Government of West Bengal has officially announced the admission process for Polytechnic and ITI courses for the academic year 2025-26 under the Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department.
Students can now apply through the Common Admission Portal.

Admission Basis: Merit List based on Qualifying Exam Marks
🎯 Merit List Preparation:

For Class 10 Based Admissions:
-
50% weightage to total marks
-
50% weightage to Mathematics and Physical Science marks
-

For Class 12 Based Admissions:
-
50% weightage to total marks
-
50% weightage to Mathematics + Physics/Biology + Chemistry marks

Tie-breaker: Higher subject marks will be considered.
🏫 Seat Reservation:

District Quota: 50% seats reserved till 2nd counselling (except Kolkata, South 24 Pgs, North 24 Pgs, Howrah, parts of Nadia & Hooghly).

GTA Area Admissions: Reserved for GTA residents till 2nd counselling.

EWS Quota: 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

Female Candidates: 20% of seats reserved across all categories.

SC/ST Seat Conversion: Unfilled SC/ST seats may be converted to General after 3rd counselling.
📝 Important Instructions:

Fee Payment: Only through online mode. No cash transactions.

Help Desks: Available at all ITIs, Polytechnics, and Bangla Sahayata Kendras (BSKs).

Spot/Mop-Up Counselling: Will be decentralized to institutes (separate notification later).
📜 Special Notices:

Fee Waiver: Available for inmates of Homes under MEELS and WCD Departments.

Management/IMC Quota Admissions: Will be open from the start of the admission cycle.

All Applicants: Must ensure online registration and document submission within deadlines.
